Improving the Signal-to-Noise Ratio of Photonic Frequency Conversion from 852 nm to 1560 nm Based on a Long-Wavelength Laser-Pumped PPLN Waveguide Module

The storage wavelength of quantum nodes based on atomic systems does not match the optical fiber communication, which requires establishment an efficient conversion system between flying bits and bits. In this paper, nonlinear technology periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide, a low-noise 852-nm photons to 1560-nm was achieved by 1878-nm pump laser. generation mechanism transmission noise due process are analyzed theoretically. introduced spontaneous parameter downconversion Raman scattering strong laser experimentally studied. suppression near 1560 nm is realized Bragg grating (FBG) filter. experiment, when FBG bandwidth reduced from 0.257 0.130 nm, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) increases 52 90. Our results show that SNR can be greatly improved using narrower band Therefore, node connected channel, signal transmitted over long distances with low loss high fidelity.
